Kindergarten Convergent Thinking: Boy, the block corner sure is messy. What do you think are some good ways to store the blocks on those shelves?
Kindergarten Divergent Thinking: Boy, the block corner sure is messy. What are some things we could do to make sure the blocks aren't ever that messy again?
I see why divergent and convergent thinking both require instruction, particularly divergent thinking. Perhaps it's just that we are more likely to be convergent thinkers, but I envision kindergarteners in both cases trying to find a more organized way to use the shelves, even though the second question is worded so as not to negate any responses. One way to be sure the blocks are never that messy again, for example, is to get rid of the blocks.
This is a great blog post on convergent thinking vs. divergent thinking.
